Join us for the 11th workshop on Augmented Environments for Computer-Assisted Interventions which will be held in conjunction with MICCAI 2017 in Québec City, Canada on September 10th.

OVERVIEW

In medical imaging, augmented reality environments aim to provide the physician with enhanced perception of the patient either by fusing various imaging modalities or by presenting image-derived information overlaid on the physician’s view, establishing a direct relation between the image and the patient. This workshop is intended to bring together researchers in computer science, electrical engineering, physics, and clinical medicine engaged in the development of augmented environments for image-guided interventions.

IMPORTANT DATES

Paper Submission Deadline: June 12th @ 11:59 PST
Author Notification: June 28th

***We’re happy to announce that this year’s workshop proceedings will be published in a Special Issue on Augmented Environments for Computer-Assisted Interventions of the IET’s HealthCare Technology Letters Journal (IET HTL).

THEMES

The focus of this workshop is on novel scientific contributions that offer solutions to the technical problems in computer-assisted intervention systems and robotics, visualisation and interaction, and medical image computing, as well as papers describing complete systems and clinical applications. The potential clinical benefit is a core subject and contributors will be expected to place their work within this context by describing necessary developments, research questions and any potential obstacles that must be overcome before clinical introduction of their technologies.

Topics within this theme include:

  • Medical Augmented and Virtual Reality
  • Surgical Simulation and Training
  • Multimodal Data Visualization and Image Fusion
  • Image-guided Surgical Navigation and Robotics
  • Virtual Endoscopy and Colonoscopy
  • Display Technology for Medical Imaging and Visualization
  • Image Guided Intervention System and Platforms
AWARDS

Top papers will be recognized with awards sponsored by Northern Digital Inc.
