Join us for the 12th workshop on Augmented Environments for Computer-Assisted Interventions which will be held in conjunction with MICCAI 2018 in Grenada, Spain on September 16th. **NEW** this year, MICCAI workshops CereVis and AE-CAI will join forces to host a joint event.

In medical imaging, augmented reality environments aim to provide the physician with enhanced perception of the patient either by fusing various imaging modalities or by presenting image-derived information overlaid on the physician’s view, establishing a direct relationship between the image and the patient. This workshop is intended to bring together researchers in computer science, electrical engineering, physics, and clinical medicine engaged in the development of augmented environments for image-guided interventions.

Paper Submission Deadline: June 20th  June 30th
Author Notification: July 13th  July 23rd
Revised Papers Due: July 30th  Aug 6th

***We’re happy to announce that this year’s workshop proceedings will be published in a Special Issue on Augmented Environments for Computer-Assisted Interventions of the IET’s HealthCare Technology Letters Journal (IET HTL).

The focus of this workshop is on novel scientific contributions that offer solutions to the technical problems in computer-assisted intervention systems and robotics, visualization and interaction, and medical image computing, as well as papers describing complete systems and clinical applications. The potential clinical benefit is a core subject and contributors will be expected to place their work within this context by describing necessary developments, research questions and any potential obstacles that must be overcome before the clinical introduction of their technologies.

Topics within this theme include:

  • Medical Augmented and Virtual Reality
  • Surgical Simulation and Training
  • Multimodal Data Visualization and Image Fusion
  • Image-guided Surgical Navigation and Robotics
  • Virtual Endoscopy and Colonoscopy
  • Display Technology for Medical Imaging and Visualization
  • Image Guided Intervention System and Platforms
  • Human-Computer Interaction and Information Display (visual, auditory, tactile)

We’re happy to announce that once again the top three papers will be recognized with a paper award sponsored by Northern Digital Inc. (NDI).

Coming soon.
